Library Circulation Clerical
Duties/Description: The Watertown Free Public Library Circulation Department seeks a friendly, motivated, and dedicated individual to work in our busy library. The desired candidate must deliver exceptional customer service, attend closely to detail, possess confidence in interpreting and enforcing library policies and procedures, enjoy interacting with the general public in a fast-paced environment, and be dedicated to the WFPL mission.
Circulation staff are responsible for checking in and checking out books to patrons, answering general information questions, registering new users, providing excellent customer service, and many other additional tasks related to circulating library materials. Members of the circulation staff are often the first point of contact for library users--the successful candidate will be someone who enjoys interacting and communicating with a variety of different people.
This is a part-time (25 hours) union position with benefits and includes some evening shifts and a Saturday rotation.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, detail-oriented and good organizational skills, ability to work with library staff and the general public in a courteous and tactful manner, interest and ability to develop technology skills. Light physical effort required. Must occasionally lift/move materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
