Community Outreach Librarian
The Watertown Free Public Library (WFPL) seeks an outgoing, creative, and community-minded person to fill the position of Community Outreach Librarian (COL). The COL is responsible for bringing the library into the community via bookmobile and community events, engaging and educating individuals and community groups to bring them into the library, and recommending improvements to library services based on input from the community. This position reports to the Director.

Experience and Qualifications
This role will be filled by a librarian with an MLS or individual with relevant experience in a public facing outreach role for a non-profit or public sector organization. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills, ability to learn and use new software, and comfort driving a large van. A valid driver’s license in good standing is required and non-negotiable. Multilingual speakers with proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Armenian, or Arabic preferred.
Schedule, Salary, and Benefits
This is a full time (37 hours) union position. Salary range $57,673.15-$68,924.76 in ten steps. Generous benefits including healthcare, paid holidays, sick, and vacation leave.
Standard work week is Monday through Friday. Candidate must have flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekend hours to attend events or bookmobile stops.
