Killing Memory: The Destruction and Resurrection of Libraries and Cultural Heritage. András Riedlmayer directs the Documentation Center for Islamic Architecture at Harvard's Fine Arts Library. His research interests include Ottoman history, Islamic art and culture in the Balkans, and the protection of cultural heritage under national and international law. He documented the destruction of cultural heritage in the 1990s in Bosnia and Kosovo, and testified as an expert witness before the UN War Crimes Tribunal in the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
