Join Kevin Carson, a Watertown resident with an MFA in Filmmaking and Film Studies, for a discussion of The Florida Project.
Set over one summer, the film follows precocious six-year-old Moonee as she courts mischief and adventure with her ragtag playmates, and bonds with her rebellious but caring mother, all while living in the shadows of Walt Disney World. Willem Defoe was nominated by the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, BAFTA, and the Screen Actors' Guild for his powerful supporting performance. How can you argue with a tomatometer score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes?
The Florida Project is available for Watertown residents to stream for free on Hoopla and Kanopy. Watch the movie at home, then join Kevin for a guided conversation about the film. We can't hold Movie Mondays right now, but we can all still enjoy films together!
